Santa Teresa
To say that Santa Teresa has become a hot new travel destination in Costa Rica is putting it lightly. This formerly small village of fishermen and farmers has grown into a 5 km. strip of cabinas, hotels, and shops that are as varied as the residents, tico and international, who have found a home here in this very sociable surf community.
Years ago, only surfers came to this village for the isolation and great waves. Now visitors of all types come to relax, party, surf, and enjoy the beach activities.
But don't be alarmed..the great waves and isolation are still to be found in Santa Teresa, and on any given day, one can find peace among the secluded beaches while taking time to ride horses, comb the beaches, or explore the coastline and witness some of the most spectacular sunsets Costa Rica has to offer.
